The Jewish community in the Republic of Moldova
Mission of the Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova - to assist formation of strong and solid Jewish society in the Republic of Moldova which remembers the past and surely looks forward. The public Organization "Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova" has the status of the republican organization.
Main objective of the Jewish public organization is creation of conditions for a full development of the Jewish consciousness, ethnos preservation in the state of Moldova.
Main objectives Mission of the Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova:
-carrying out organizational, financial and professional actions for creation of system of social protection of the Jewish community of Moldova; carrying out cultural educational work (organization of educational institutions of all levels, carrying out lectures, seminars, scientific conferences on questions of studying of languages, stories, culture and traditions of the Jewish people); realization and protection of civil, economic, social, cultural and other legitimate rights and freedoms of the Jewish population and their associations; assistance to revival of religious Judaic communities and to return of cult establishments by it (synagogues, schools, and auxiliary rooms); assistance to protection of honor and national dignity of Jews of Moldova, opposition to anti-Semitism; expansion and strengthening of ties of the Jewish public organizations with the religious organizations, the Jewish public organizations of Israel and other countries which activity doesn't contradict the purposes and problems of EORM; support and development of communications, including an exchange of delegations and groups, with public, cultural, youth, political, religious, sports and other organizations of Israel; protection of monuments of history and culture of the Jewish people; assistance to development, revival and preservation of all parties of activity of the Jewish organizations and communities in the territory of the Republic of Moldova; performance of coordination and information functions, and also functions of representation of members of EORM at the state and international levels.
The Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova is one of members of the European Jewish Congress and the Euroasian Jewish Congress.
The cooperation agreement with Federation of the Jewish Communities of Romania works, close relations with the All-Ukrainian Jewish Congress, the Russian Jewish Congress, the World Congress of Russian-speaking Jewry, and friendship with the American Jewish Committee and other international Jewish organizations are maintained.
