As noted in CS message, in the context of an increase in the number of requests for information / advice to the Information Line of the Customs Service, it was decided to publish periodically informational messages on frequently asked questions addressed to the operators of the Information Line. The first such message is devoted to the Rules for the importation of personal property into the country. As noted by the Moldovan Customs Service, questions about the goods that can be imported into the country without paying taxes, as well as the non-taxable amount for goods brought for personal purposes, are still among the most frequent questions. According to the Law on the procedure for importing property into the Republic of Moldova and exporting property from its territory by individuals, the tax-free limit for goods transported by land is 300 euros, and for those who import them into the country by air or by sea, a financial threshold is set at the level of 430 euros. However, to take advantage of these exceptions, citizens must prove that the product is not intended for commercial or industrial purposes. The law also provides a spreadsheet (annex to the aforementioned law) indicating the number of goods allowed for import, without paying customs duties.
