The founder of the center, which opened in September 2021, is Alexander Burlak—a noble rescuer who has dedicated himself and his life to helping homeless animals and has been assisting cats for several years by establishing a comprehensive care system. Alexander is known as a blogger who treats sick, homeless, abandoned, and maimed cats.
MURRMURRHOUSE — A shelter where animals are nursed back to health and then placed with loving owners. This is a shining example of a noble initiative aimed at addressing the problem of stray animals in our country.
Key aspects of cat rescue and care:
● Emergency Assistance, Trapping, and Transport: We travel to the location of the animal in need, trap it, and provide initial first aid. Sick animals are often frightened or aggressive due to pain and shock. In such cases, we use special cat traps and carriers to safely transport the cat to the veterinary clinic.
● Veterinary care: Wound care, treatment of infections, vaccinations, spaying and neutering, and various types of surgeries at veterinary clinics, such as Alex Vet, that help Alexander rescue his pets.
● Rehabilitation and treatment: Providing the necessary conditions, care, and daily treatments to restore the pet’s health. This is the most costly stage. The center periodically organizes fundraisers to cover the costs of veterinary services, complex surgeries, and expensive tests (such as PCR and ELISA for hidden infections) for the animals. The center also needs to regularly purchase essential medications and vaccines, without which saving the animals would be virtually impossible.
● Socialization: Sick stray cats often don’t trust people. It takes a tremendous amount of effort and weeks of work to tame the animal and prepare it for life with a new family.
● Finding a home for a rescued pet: Once the kittens have recovered, we look for responsible owners through social media and specialized platforms. We’re searching for new owners who will provide love and care to these rescued animals.
● Project development: It all began with a designated part of her home; it served as the first safe space where injured and abandoned animals could receive treatment, recover, and wait for their new families. Today, with the help of funds raised, the second floor of the Cat House is undergoing renovation. This will allow the project to take veterinary care to a new level, as the number of cats under Alexander’s care is constantly growing and space is needed to separate them into groups.
It’s selfless care for those who can’t take care of themselves! Thanks to people like this, many animals get a second chance at life.
The Center’s project exists and thrives thanks to the support and assistance of people who care deeply about the suffering and tragedy faced by animals, serving as a temporary home for many pets while they search for a new family. Even a small donation can cover a day’s stay at the clinic, medication, or a serving of therapeutic food for the cats. Information support is also very important: Likes, comments, and shares of posts seeking homes significantly increase an animal’s chances of finding a family.
