The third edition of the Annual Summit of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Moldova ICT Summit 2012 will take place between 16 and 17 of May in Chisinau. The aim of the summit is to reinforce the development paths of the country implementing ITC solutions in order to build a knowledge based economy.
Moldova ICT Summit 2012 will gather together Government officials and representatives of ministries, important actors in the business field, academia people, opinion leaders, IT specialists. During the 2 working days of the summit they will participate at discussions and debates panels on a range of topics such as smart society, intelligent investment for eGov, education and talent management, export and investments in the IT sector, ICT for business, software as a craft, etc.
This year summit is especially focused on larger implementation of information technologies in all life fields. The transparency of Government activity and of public institutions, the access to public information of population is possible to be achieved using IT. Also, at the summit there will be discussed the elaboration of Strategy Digital Moldova 2020, going to be finalized in accordance with the Digital Agenda from the European Union Strategy “Europe 2020”.
Moldova ICT Summit 2012 will be held under the patronage of Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MTIC), organized by the Moldovan Association of ICT Companies (ATIC), the USAID Project Competitiveness Enhancement and Enterprise Development II (CEED II), the Centre for Electronic Government (eGov) and World Bank. The partners of this year edition are the companies Tacit Knowledge, Moldcell, Microsoft. The sponsors of the event are the companies: DAAC System Integrator, IBM, HP, Endava, Intel. General media-partner Publika TV, online partner Numbers, media partners Infotag, Profit, Economist.
The Summit takes place in the frame of the “Days of the Information and Communication Technologies in Moldova – 2012”, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies between 11 of May and 15 of June 2012.
Briefing note: The first edition of the Moldova ICT Summit took place in 2010 this being an event of major importance for ICT sector where there are discussed the development visions for ICT field in Moldova, on the tendencies of the sector, as well as the industry challenges. The edition from year 2011 was attended by about 800 persons. There were done more than 50 presentations by representatives from 19 countries among which Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Estonia, Great Britain, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, USA, etc.
